From a single Costa Mesa multifamily property to a six-state platform, NextGen Properties has grown by staying narrow and going deep.

2000

Founded in Costa Mesa

NextGen Properties is established in Costa Mesa with a single focus: professional, transparent multifamily property management for Orange County owners who were tired of generalist managers treating multifamily like a side business.

2005

First Ground-Up Development

After building a strong multifamily property management portfolio across Orange County, NextGen oversees its first ground-up multifamily project from site acquisition through delivery.

2010

In-House Construction Division

Multifamily renovations were getting bid out at GC markups that destroyed value-add returns. We brought construction in-house - one accountable team for the full multifamily lifecycle, no third-party execution risk.

2016

Sun Belt Expansion Begins

Investors are moving capital out of California into Phoenix and Las Vegas. We follow with the operating model intact - entering Arizona and Nevada, applying the same multifamily discipline to new markets.

2019

AB 1482 Becomes Law

California passes statewide rent control. We rebuild leasing, noticing, and renewal workflows around AB 1482, the LA RSO, the Santa Ana RSO, and Pasadena Measure H. Compliance becomes a core competency, not a panic.

2022

Phoenix Develops Itself

Canyon Townhomes (57 units, Alhambra) and Elevation Townhomes (48 units) deliver in Phoenix - 105 Class-A units we sourced, entitled, built, and now manage ourselves. Sister brand NextGen Coastal launches to handle coastal SFRs and vacation rentals.
